Designed as a deliverable for a course, my team and I conducted 12 usability assessments to determine whether the PBSC Bike Share Mobile application could better serve its end users.
The results were coded, analyzed, and prepared in a report, with recommendations on how the application could be better improved.
As avid cyclists ourselves, we were aware of the PBSC bicycles dispersed all around the city of Toronto. Their mission to provide green and accessible transport options resonated with our own values, and so we decided to look into the mobile application to investigate how well it was serving user needs, goals, and whether or not there was room for improvement.
To do so, we prepared a research plan that involved conducting usability assessments to investigate these questions. Recruiting among friends and family, we chose to investigate users that were both familiar with the app already, and those who were using it for the first time - as the app would have target users including Toronto residents, and tourists to the city as well.
